Here for auction is a set of what I believe is called redware. This is a Hawaiiana grouping and has 4 figures, 2 grass shacks, 2 palm trees with the base made from part of a coconut. Trees actually have small nuts in them. A koa wood surfboard. A wood calabash bowl, a couple of outriggers and then another larger one that seems to have one of the ama’s missing. The figures are approx. 2-2.75” tall. One is standing and the others sitting. The standing one is marked on the base: Made In Japan. They have their original straw skirts and crepe leis. There appear to be no repairs on any of these and are intact. There may be some minor scratches here and there. Not sure what they are made of, maybe porcelain or bisque or something like that. I also have no idea as to their age but they sure do not look like they are new although they do appear to be in great condition. The figures body colors are a dark brownish. Total of 13 pieces as shown. A very wonderful Hawai’i grouping…I offer these as found and as shown and have done my best to describe them.
