7.5cm in diameter at the base and standing approximately 5cm tall, this early 19th century heavy glass inkwell has a hinged lid made - apparently - of brass, although it's hard to tell as it hasn't been cleaned. The lid is in good condition, still fits well with only a little play in the hinge, which is still tight enough to hold the lid open to allow a pen to be dipped in.
