Outstanding piece of California pottery dates to the late 40s - early 50s from Hedi Schoop. This piece is known as "Josephine" inspired by legendary singer and dancer Josephine Baker. The figure stands approximately 13" tall with Josephine posing with basket under her right arm and left hand on hip. She is clearly marked on the bottom "Hedi Schoop". There are no dings, chips, breaks or repairs. If I was to be super critical on here, it should be noted that she does display a small marking on her brassiere, as seen in the close-up photo. It does NOT feel like a chip and/or flake and I'm not real sure what to make of it.An exceptional and highly desirable piece of vintage California pottery. Please contact me with question and/or comments that you may have.
