Up for 3-day auction, at no reserve, is this fabulous vintage Hendryx (made in the USA) birdcage with floor-stand I recently purchased for your consideration...and includes what I believe may be original accessories. OK, you've got your Deco Modernist cocktail shaker/bar set, art pottery, furniture, artwork, console stereo, and andirons...but, do you have a period birdcage to top it all off? It's a terrific piece of Modern Industrial Design which you must view in person to appreciate...at all the different angles which makes this a stunning piece. Check out how the round swing/perch complements the overall design...not to mention the four, original ball feet. The cage hung on its stand reminds me of the period microphone in The King's Speech. As-found, in very nice condition...I haven't detailed it at all, so it can only look better. I'd estimate age at circa-1940s...however, I'm not a bird/birdcage-owner, collector, or expert so please let me know if you require additional photos or information. I'm limited to twelve photos in the auction, but will be happy to send additional photos to you via email. Cage and stand are chrome-plated steel...since they're magnetic when tested. Cage measures approximately 16" diameter...and the round harp is 22 1/4" diameter. The stand is approximately 67" tall. I see no broken or repaired rods on the cage, and no repairs evident on the stand. The cage retains both aluminum "Hendryx" cage tags on each side, as shown. Both old plastic feeders are marked "Hendryx", as shown. All the wood stands match...as do the aluminum brackets of some sort. Original aluminum poop tray is present and quite clean, just showing minor evidence of vintage use. One side of the cage has the original turn-screw/clasp intact...which drops the side and allows for tray removal, as shown. The opposite side has the sliding cage door for other access.Overall, there are no rust holes or rust rot...simply random surface rust in spots, as you'd expect, but nothing gaudy I assure you. Clean smelling with no musty or offensive odors. The base is in good shape, with no significant dents...just a few dimples and scrapes. The cast-iron weight inside of the base has some surface rust, as you'd expect, and is marked in the casting "Made In USA". Lastly, the stand will be disassembled (it's all held by threaded bolts and simply re-assembled) and shipped separately from the cage and hanging loop. It's not in mint condition, but is a darn-nice original survivor...and would equally cool with a real bird or a fake one. Guaranteed fresh to the market. You'll be hard-pressed to find one nicer unless it's NOS or has been restored. Please let me know if you require additional information or photographs.
