Vintage Howdy Doody Cookie Jar...bottom only (no lid)......near mint condition. Unmarked Purinton Pottery as pictured on page 259 of "The Wonderful World of Cookie Jars" by Mark & Ellen Supnick 4th printing year 2000. Measures 8" across from ear to ear....... 8-1/2" from nose to back of head and is 7-1/2" high. T are 2 tiny dings on the inside rim on the top (both shown)....neither would show with lid in place. T are 2 short stress lines on the inside bottom (shown) which do not go all the way through to the outside (on the bottom). Two very minor undergaze dots which are manufacturer's flaws.... one on the lip (shown) and one on the back of the head (shown to the left on photo). Otherwise no chips, cracks, crazing or other damage...no repairs. Photos show many light replections......don't confuse them with damage or flaws. The few flaws (mentioned) on the jar are very minor and really do not detract from the overall beauty of the Jar. A very rare find offered with No Reserve!
