Up for auction is a really beautiful vintage "Duck" cookie jar made by the Hull Pottery Company. This cookie jar appears in " An Illustrated Value Guide To Cookie Jars" by Ermagene Westfall on page 50. I am not sure when this cookie jar was made but I do know it is pretty old. I believe it to be one of the first cookie jars made by the Hull Pottery Company. The bottom is marked "Hull 966 U.S.A.". It measures approx. 12" high, 7" long, and 7" wide. It is in excellent condition considering it's age. However, t are a couple of very small issues with it. I have taken a picture of it and you can see it t T also is some discoloration and crazing on the inside bottom of the jar. This can also be seen in the picture. The last thing is on the right foot t are some age marks. Otherwise, this jar is pretty much as it was made. Almost all of the cold paint is intact and t are only the flaws of a very old pottery piece which give it grace and charm. I really am not sure this cookie jar was ever used. If it was it was very well maintained. This "Duck" cookie jar would make a wonderful addition to your Hull collection or as a beautiful addition to your home. And as always, if you win read more
