This clock belonged to a family member who always prized it. It was a gift from her husband and she often mentioned that it was purchased in an exclusive jewelry store in the city of Utica, NY. The story goes that it cost $100.00 when purchased in the 1930s. My mother used it for a while and she has decided its time (no pun intended) for someone else to enjoy it. The starting bid is the minimum mom said to sell it for. The details. The clock stands 6 1/2 inches tall and the base is 7 1/2 inches wide. The construction is brass with black accents, glass and acrylic. The front glass is very heavy and beveled on it's edges. The case is bass and the face of the clock is some type of acrylic material. The movement is a 15 jewel, 8 day, Swiss movement. Serial number 654553 which might help some expert date it. T is a fast/slow adjustment, a knob to adjust the time and of course a key to wind it. The condition. The clock needs a small amount of TLC. The acrylic back has shrunk over the years. As it did, it pulled the back away from the screws which attach it to the case of the clock just enough to crack the back around the screw holes. The back is still held one tightly and it almost looks like it was meant to be that way. As it shrunk the IMHOF letters also fell from w they were mounted and are floating around inside the clock.
