A vintage ballpoint pen from the early days of ballpoint production. In the late 1940's Ingersoll produced a Petite line of pens that are very similar to teh modern day Fischer bullet pens, with the cap closing over the pen. When posted, the cap gives extra length to make it comfortable in the hand. When capped the pen is 3 7/8 inches; almost 5 inches when posted. This particular pen has 3 Donald Duck decals around the cap rim. These Disney world variations are very hard to find and sought by vintage BP collectors (see page 82 "The Incredible Ball Point Pen": Gostony/Schneider). Three Donald decals are present. The gold trim of the cap is without significant wear, and the plastic barrel is intact without chips or cracks. The pen has a vintage ballpoint refill that doesn't write. I suspect that it is the original, because the tip of the refill was covered with a plastic shield to prevent the ink from drying out(no one claimed it would last 60 years!).A great addition for vintage ballpoint pen collectors; Disney, comic character collectors also.
