This week I'll be selling several Hakata dolls. Up for bids is this genuine HAKATA JAPANESE CRAFTSMAN DOLL featuring a TATTOO ARTIST and GEISHA GIRL . This is the best one I have ever owned. It is in excellent condition . Hakata dolls are made with clays found in Fukota City. The style was created in the early 17th century by Soshichi Masaki (a roof tile craftsman). This figurine is indicative of the older Hakata representing people at their trades and every day life. This doll is as fine of an example of Hakata as you will ever find. It features a tatoo artist making an intricate dragon design on the back of a Geisha girl. The expressions on this exquisite man and gorgeous woman are very realistic. They are painted with fine detail. The colors are very rich and vivid. This doll is in fabulous condition. T is absolutely no damage at all. Even the delicate pieces, such as the artists pen and the Geisha's hair comb are in tact. T is slight wear to the color in places, but other than that it is perfect. This doll measures about 6 1/4" tall. The base is about 7 1/4" x 8 1/4" wide. I took the felt backing off the bottom. Some of it remains. You can clean it off or leave it since it doesn't show. Don't miss your chance to own the exquisite piece. PLEASE CLICK ON View Seller's Other Items FOR MORE FINE ESTATE TREASURES UP FOR AUCTION read more
