WE BELIEVE THIS SET IS VINTAGE AND NOT ANTIQUE, BUT IT IS A CLASSICAL SHAPE FROM THE CENTURY BEFORE LAST.T were ONY TWO of these finest quality Kutani Sake Cups with the Tokkuri, and all are in Mint Condition. Looks like, again!, some disaster must have happened to the rest of the set of 6 pieces. (Five Cups.) But it is now a MEIOTO, Happy Couple Set - PLUS t are other nice Kutani cups I listed that would go fine with it if company drops by for a little Snort of fine Nihonshu!! T are BEAUTIFUL GOLD trimmed RAISED flowers?, Gold Trim all over the pieces and rims and basically CLASSICAL KUTANI work. You can appreciate the raised and also delicate Calligraphy by turning the pieces in the light while looking at it with your magnifying glass. The FINE detail. The Crackly Glaze and raised features, due to multiple firings in the kiln. The Calligraphy on these pieces are another outstanding feature! It is so finely done, it is AMAZING. I hope you understand that hardly anybody today can read this, but that was not the point, even when it was originally made and more people could read (AND write like this!). It was mainly for Artistic and Composition / Design purposes. This is what I look and feel for. So, please push that 'Other Items' Button to see what all else I can find after decades. Thank You All.
