VINTAGE JAPANESE SWORD KATANA SHARP BLADE SAMURAI W-358 Exquisite item!! Here is a brief History of the important role that the Samurai Warrior has played in Japan `S history. For a people of such integrity in everything they do, one must realize that the sacred sword that the Japanese held so dear was possibly the product of many of the country`S most educated and devout smiths resulting in the fusion of technology and artwork. Continuous warfare of living and dying by the Sword resulted in the code of Bushido. (Way of the Warrior including strict guidelines of behavior to preserve Honor) Bushido is what governed the Samurai live a life of high honor and service and to commit ritual suicide know as seppuku, if ever they lost a battle of had been disgraced in any way. The Samurai was trained to either win the fight or die by his opponent` s sword or by his own blade to avoid surrender. This was done to preserve the honor and to keep the family from being shamed by the defeat. This is a real sword made by a master sword smith by hand. It is not a cheap with a spot-welded rod for a handle. It is not certain how old this sword is and one would need an appraisal from a professional Samurai Sword expert for more information as I am not an expert and haven`t paid for an appraisal. This is a full size katana and is fully functional.
