Please refer to the detailed descriptions below. I have a total of 56 photos of these speakers available. The additional photos include close-ups of the condition issues noted in the descriptions below. Please contact me if there are any questions. Physical Condition Summary These speakers are in very good or better physical condition with wear that is better than would be expected for their age. The speaker enclosures are in un-restored condition, as are speaker grilles. I have provided detailed descriptions below to compliment the auction photos. The condition descriptions I provide are always conservative and usually too critical. In general, buyers often feel that my items are in better condition than expected! Please note that I use flash photography for photos of the noted condition issues in order to ensure the issues are visible. However, the issues appear much worse (and brighter) in the photos than actual condition due to the camera flash! Enclosures The enclosures are structurally sound with no gaps or splits. With the exception of a few small dings and nicks that would be considered ‘normal wear’, the horizontal and vertical edges of the enclosures are in very good condition. There is one larger ding of note on the top right horizontal edge of one enclosure near the front right corner. There are some small dings on the top rear horizontal edge of one enclosure and some small dings on the right rear vertical edge of the other enclosure. The top corners are in very good or better condition, with minimal signs of wear. There are a few very small marks of varying types and sizes on the enclosure sides. The tops of both enclosures are in much better than average condition, with minimal signs of wear. The rear baffles of both enclosures are in very good or better condition. Overall, the enclosures are in quite good condition, even with the minor issues noted! Speaker Grilles The original speaker grilles are in very good or better condition. The grille fabric is in very good or better condition, with only a few small marks that are largely not visible without close inspection. The grilles attach to the enclosures correctly. The original JBL emblems are included, and they attach to the grilles properly. Components There is no physical damage to any of the speaker system components (Woofer, Mid-range, Tweeter). Specifically, there are no punctures, gouges or other similar damage to any of the components. There is no voice coil rubbing on any of the drivers. There are no ‘finger pokes’ in any of the dust caps. The foam surrounds have just been professionally replaced on both Woofers. The replacement work included use of shims to ensure correct voice coil centering and the use of a sweep generator to ensure correct sonic performance. In addition, the Woofer dust caps have been replaced. The replacement surrounds and dust caps are correct. The input terminals on the rear of the enclosures are free of damage. The Dividing Networks are also free of damage. Functional Condition Both speakers are in fully functional condition. Both speakers sound crisp and powerful while playing a variety of music types.
