VINTAGE JOHNSTON'S MILWAUKEE CANDY BOX ~FULL OF RECIPES Description : ~~~~~ VINTAGE JOHNSTON’S MILWAUKEE~~~~ ~~~~CANDY BOX~~~~ ~~~~LOADED WITH OLD RECIPES~~~~ I found this box full of recipes when I went to rural Indiana last month. This is one that I have been hemming and hawing over listing. I am just plain running out of room so the time is up on this one and it is! To start off, I have no idea how old this box is. My guess is maybe the forties. I really do not know. All I know is that I was born in the fifties and I do not remember ever seeing a box like this. It is hard cardboard and the outside has this soft kind of velvety paper texture. The top of the box says Chocolate Brazil Nuts in cream one pound. It was from Johnston’s in Milwaukee. Anyway, it is in ok shape for its age and would make a cute accent in your kitchen on its own. It measures 8 ¾ inches by 2 inches. The box is full of all kinds of recipes. They all look very old. The most modern thing I found in t were a couple of magazine ads with recipes from the fifties. Other than that everything appears to be from the thirties and forties. Most of the recipes are newspaper clippings although t are some hand written ones as well. T are recipes from labels of products, a beat up Betty Crocker flyer from a sack of flour and some little decorating booklets. I think I took
