In deciding what jewelry I will offer, I look first for style, then metals and stones, and a small amount of Gaudiness helps...KJL, Kenneth Jay Lane helped to make "Costume Jewelry" a descriptive phrase, instead of bawdy denunciation. Honestly, I have fought many years to recover the "information" gathered over decades, research such as this helps, but I can not tell you if the stone is real sapphire, cut crystal, Swarovski, or glass. Lane uses all of these in past designs.This should be an easy VG condition ring, however, I will place it in the Good+ category due to the sheen of the outside finger area showing what I consider to be acceptable finger wear from being worn. Except for that fact alone, this ring easily sets at VG in my opinion. The medium sized stone is very well adhered, and cut beautifully. This is amethyst, with sweet purple and clear hue (almost divided in halves) at certain angles, and pure violet purple in other directions. It is a very beautifully facetted cut, elongated at 5/8" x 3/16" The smaller 1/32" diamondell cut Garnett stones or crystals are complete, well adhered, and range from near clear to rose pink, and to golden yellow. The high polish metal is crisp and clean dark (obsidian dark), but as stated, the sheen of some of the area where fingers meet the ring needs polished...still AG. The interior ring read more
