Vintage kitchen - long toasting fork Description Toasting Fork C1870. English. No makers name. Total length 530. Fork is 55 wide and tines are 60 long. Hand forged from wrought iron with a decorative mark 1x1 stamped into the square shank. The handle is turned from ash and has a heavy bass ferrule. Cleaned and polished - in excellent used condition. The type of fork used in large Country House kitchens for toasting bread and crumpets in front of the open part of the range fire. Also used for small pieces of meat like cutlets. A very nice old piece of kitchenalia to hang in your "farmhouse" kitchen or in your inglenook.
