Approximate Dimensions for Storage: base 19cm x 26.5cm; height about 22cm when handle fully screwed down Tin Dimensions: 12cm x 19cm Identifying Marks: Tala MADE IN ENGLAND on top of handle Materials and Design: The surrounding pressing mechanism looks like iron painted green though not as heavy as you would expect. I think the tin is aluminium. Use: Joints of meat are placed in the tin with the base in place and covered by the flat pieces of metal provided. Pressure is applied on top of the metal plates so that the meat is pressed into shape. I have seen these also shown as being for cheese pressing but I'm not sure and please bear in mind that the base is loose even though there is a lip around the base of each tin to hold it in place. Condition: Only one tin - there is usually a smaller tin included). The outer stand is discoloured and has small scratches and rust patches and particularly on base where paint is missing. Tins may need a clean but mainly clean and remaining tin has original base and press lid and the screw pressing mechanism works well.
