If you a fan of the "real" soap box derby years this is a great auction for you. It is an original racer construction manual produced by the Kiwanis Club in 1964.Containing over 100 pages of step by step plans, blueprints, exploded parts views plus a running narrative text this manual carried a disclaimer with states: "IMPORTANT: This is NOT an OFFICIAL manual. If you find that this racer construction manual does not agree with the intent of the OFFICIAL RULES then you must abide by the ruling(s) in the OFFICIAL RULE BOOK". Every facet of each part and construction procedure is covered in close detail. It's a real treat for engineering types, but it's hard to image any one of today's gameboy generation kids being able to tackle it. Published by the Aircraft Printing Co. of Lynchburg, Virginia, this measures about 5.75 x 7 inches (about 14 x 18 cm). It is about 125 pages long, and is spiral bound with tabs for the major chapters. The covers show very light storage wear but all of the interior pages are crisp and clean throughout with no soiling of any kind.
