This pair of spurs was made by the Kyle-Pettigrew partnership. The spurs are iron with nickel plating. Some of the nickel has worn off, showing the brown iron underneath. They show a very strong Ed Blanchard influence. Both spurs are marked under the button with the circle KP mark. The owner lightly etched the name 'Pinky' and the number '5' into the side of each spur opposite the mark. I do not know who the original owner was. The bands measure just under one inch. The rowels are 1 3/16 inch. These spurs have been used quite a bit, but t are no breaks or repairs. They are all oringinal. According to 'Bit and Spur Makers in the Texas Tradition' by Ned and Jody Martin and Kurt House, the partnership between Kyle and Pettigrew lasted from 1968-1970. These spurs were made in El Paso, TX. A great pair of spurs offered with no reserve.
