Beautiful Art Deco Diamond Watch. 72 cut diamonds set in pure platinum with platinum casement. This is my Mother's watch from late 1930s. It was appraised 20 years ago for insurance purposes for $4500, and very recent appraisals averaged $4750. The stem is t, but it needs a crown which came off about 6 years ago. It was working and keeping good time before losing the crown. I'm sure the spring and inner works are in good shape, but should be cleaned and serviced when replacing the crown. (Jewelers assure me replacing the crown costs about $35 and it can be cleaned and serviced for less than $100.) The make is CRESTON. T are 72 cut diamonds on the watch (none missing) and they are set in platinum. The watch has a platinum casement and inner body. It is estimated that t is about 4 tenths of an ounce of platinum in the watch, which currently has spot price of $1450 per troy ounce. This means the platinum in the watch alone is worth over $500.00. The band on this watch is pewter colored light nylon and is professionally adjustable. This band and clasp was put on about 30 years ago and is in excellent condition. This watch is very delicate and feminine. I have survived 2 wives who put on this watch with joy, pleasure and pride. When worn, it never, ever failed to gather many, many favorable admiring comments from men and women. Bid read more
