Vintage Lot of 33 Pewter Decorative and Souvenir Sewing Thimbles. Most, if not all, are handmade. Many have maker's marks on the inside. The Lady Liberty is engraved 1984 SL/ FDN / Inc. One of the thimbles has a copper miniature Centennial coin on top. Two treasured keepsake thimbles with convex lucite bubble tops depicting a Nashville guitar player and a Connecticut Sailing Vessel Ship. Transportation thimbles include a train, Mayflower vessel, steamboat and rocketship. Several skyline thimbles include 2 Chicago and Pittsburgh. Hershey's is always represented in pewter, as well as the Statue of Liberty. The White House and Capitol thimbles are awesome. A couple of cowboys on horses stand out and so does the Sphinx . Vermont is represented with 2 covered barn drives. Manitoba Canada is our tallest thimble at 2" with the shortest being Old Sturnbridge Village. The big apple is easy to spot. Hoover Dam is always spectacular. Nevada has a dice and machine top while Thailand looks like pewter (jury is still out on that one). Alabama, Steamboat Springs, Bellefonte Pennsylvania, Greenville PA, Door County (looks like the oldest), Wyoming and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh round out the rest of the thimbles.
