This is a painted wooden firkin that is vintage or older. It came from an older woman's Cape Cod Estate and appears to have been painted two times (you can see a darker paint base on the inside of the bucket) and the surface painted job appears to have been touched up.T is no signature that I can see, but well done on the painting. It is a pale yellow painted base and the motif is cherries and grapes, I presume. It is in very good and stable vintage condition with minor dings and patina, the top fits well and locks down with the handle up. It is LARGE at 12 inches high and 11 1/2 inches wide the handle has a 5 inch drop. It has a good weight and is not flimsy, I am guessing 8 pounds or so. Questions welcome.
