Vintage (1950's) Lighted Plastic Santa Claus Bank Waving Santa on White Reindeer Atop Snow Covered Chimney! I recently bought this wonderful vintage illuminated plastic Santa Claus bank at a local estate sale. The woman (probably in her 70's), from whom I bought it, was selling her parent's estate. She told me they had owned this piece for as long as she could remember. I believe this would be no later than the 1950's. This cheerful, waving Santa is mounted atop a white reindeer who is scampering across a snowcovered rooftop and chimney. Santa has a sack of presents over his shoulder and t is a slot on the sack for dropping coins into! This hard plastic decoration measures 10 1/2 inches high, 7 1/4 inches wide, and 3 inches deep. It is constructed of a two part mold which has been glued together at the seams. T is some slight yellowing at these seams. I believe the light cord is original. The bulb screws into a hard plastic receptor at the end of the cord. The words, open and close, are on the the receptor and it "turns" into an opening on the back of Santa's sack. This vintage decoration/bank is in very good vintage condition. The red colors are still bright and clear on Santa's suit, the red brick of the house and chimney and the bridle on the reindeer.
