This is a Vintage Lincoln Art Deco Glass Slip Shade Chandelier.PLEASE NOTE: The chandelier is made to hold five shades. As found, there are only four shades; one is missing, and the chandelier is offered as found in that regard.I found a couple of examples of chandeliers with the same slip shade design and what appeared to be the same style fixture and one with an alternate fixture that originally had a center light instead of solid metal on the bottom. The were identified as being by Lincoln Lighting Company, and at least one was identified as being marked Lincoln. I am pretty confident this is the same maker but I could find no maker's mark. The only think I found was 10566 and 8 as part of the casting on the inside of the canopy.A circle that would circumscribe the outer tips of the shades with them installed on the chandelier would be approximately 16" in diameter. Each shade is about 7" long, but the shades mount at an angle, and a substantial portion of that length rests in the channels on the fixture.The bottom of the fixture as it would be seen from below has cast Art Deco designs with a two tone finish as seen. The central area has a gold tone and the rims of the five shade holders in between have more of a silver tone.In the photos, you can see that there is some variation in the color of the shades from photo to photo. Since the chandelier is not wired into a ceiling box, none of the photos show what the exact appearance would be with bulbs. In the photo of the shades installed on the hanging chandelier, there is a recessed ceiling light turned on, shining through the shades so the color is lighter. There is another photo with that light off. That one, and the photos of the shades alone would be more representative of the appearance with the chandelier bulbs turned off. If I hade to put a name to the color of the glass, I would suggest amber might be a good choice, but the appearance in the photos is pretty accurate, so I suggest making your own assessment. The 5" diameter ceiling canopy also has a gold tone.The total weight of the fixture and shades is about six pounds and 4 ounces.The information we received is that the chandelier is of the Art Deco Period, circa 1930s / 1940s.At the time of the original listing, we have a number of other vintage lighting related listings in our ebay store, including both electric and non-electric wall sconces, several chandeliers, and a number of glass shades.ConditionShadesAs found, two of the shades have a couple of small chips along the edges that mate with the channels, as is common on glass slip shades. An example is shown in a closeup photo, circled in blue. These will lie completely inside the fixture and will not be seen when the chandelier is hung. The shades are otherwise in excellent condition and we will guarantee your satisfaction with the accuracy of our description of the shades.Metal Chandelier FixtureThe chandelier fixture is in very good condition with a little minor wear and variation on gold and silver colored patina. There is a little wear on the gold patina around the circumference of narrow end of the canopy as seen circled in blue. There is also some light to moderate wear on the patina on the pendant that hangs from the bottom and the fitting to which it is attached.WiringWe are not knowledgeable in this area. The wiring and the sockets appear to be in good condition. However, the wiring is the cloth covered type, or similar, used back in the day. If you are not knowledgeable in this area, I would recommend consulting a local professional in vintage lighting to verify the condition and safety of using the original wiring.
