3Vintage Little People Fi-Fi Pocket Sewing Kits German * Circa 1920-30 These vintage hand painted sewing compendiums are similar in form and made of early plastics. They are all in the form of little people with thimble hats and they contain thread bobbins and a needle case. One is marked on the bottom with the German registration designation "D.R.G.M.". This was used from 1891-1945 and stands for Deutsches Reich Gebrauchs Muster. It indicates that the design of the item was registered with the German government. The little man sewing kit has a slim matching bobbin/ needle case inside. The tall man has a little pair of folding steel scissors in the center of his bobbins. The lady with the orange thimble hat has a ribbon scarf tied around her neck. All have thread wrapped bobbins and they measure from 1 3/4" to 2 1/4" high. The condition of all is excellent with no cracks, chips or loss. Some sewing kits of similar form and decoration are shown on p. 18 of Pocket Sewing Kits by Sandy Woodyard. I stand behind everything that I offer and guarantee that it is exactly as presented. ** Full Insurance is included in the low shipping price for all of my auctions. ** ** Illustrated newsletters available on Antique Sewing Tools ** If you would like to be on my mailing list and receive the newsletters, email me at cmmeacham on AOL or read more
