This exquisite Vintage Taxco Mexican Silver Necklace was hand crafted by the famous jewelry artist Los Castillo. Each of the thick silver links is set with hand cut stones (Azur-Malachite?) in gorgeous shades of green and deep blue with flashes of rust colored highlights. This type of construction requires an expert craftsman to choose the best stones and cut them to fit within the silver borders. The necklace measures 16" long by 3/4" wide and weighs a substantial 92.1 grams. It is in good original vintage condition with no signs of damage or repair, all the inlay is intact and the push in clasp stays tightly closed. There is no damage to the silver and time has given it a lovely deep patina that adds to the necklace's beauty. It is fully hallmarked "Los Castillo, Hecho en Mexico, 220", with the eagle stamp "3" along with "Cooperativa" which indicates that it was made in the 1960's.
