Up for sale is an extremely rare and stunning vintage Ludwig Oyster Blue Pearl Jazz Festival snare drum. These snares almost never come up for sale, and when they do, they usually have some problems or stories. This one is a 14X5.5 inch Jazz Festival (Ringo spec) in amazing condition for a 45 year old drum, with glossy wrap, lovely blue color, maple/poplar/mahogany (maple interior) shell and nice hardware. It's unmolested and beautiful. The date stamp is Mar 4 1966, and the badge number is 178331, which dates this drum's manufacture to 1965. Grab this one now. Serious offers will be considered seriously. I started off with a price of more than double this, which is what I thought this was normally worth (what I paid for it anyway) but it did not sell. I reduced the price to what you see today because I would like to see this to go to a new home. I won't be reducing the price any further, though. This is a great drum and I can't imagine how the lucky buyer could be disappointed with it. This is the same type of drum used by Ringo Starr of the Beatles and has the same specs and hardware except his was black oyster. I show a picture of this snare with a black oyster set to show what it looks like in a kit. How many Oyster Blue Pearl kits are out there that are using a mismatched snare drum? This is the one!
