Up for auction is an extremely Rare First Set of Madame Alexander Little Women Dolls in their original boxes. I was thrilled to find this set intact from the original owner and hope that you too will realize the importance and value of the collection. This is the First Set of the four Little Women ever made. So for those who love Madame Alexander and Little women this set is a piece of American History. After reading the book, "Little Women", her mother took her to see the movie premiere in November 1933. That Christmas, she received the dolls from Santa Claus. She didn't play with the dolls , just loved them, all of her life as one of her prized possessions. She passed away early this year and hoped that her beloved dolls would find a new loving home and would not be separated.These first four Little Women Dolls are constructed of 16" pink cloth bodies with limbs that are sewn on. The heads turn and feature a mask-type face made from pressed felt with features hand-painted in oils. Produced in 1933, they have mohair wigs and cotton dresses done in a variety of prints. They also have slips, pantaloons, shoes and socks. Their dresses are identified by a white cloth tag printed in red. Each doll has a different hair style and color.
