Vintage Madame Alexander SONJA HENIE Composition Figure Ice Skating DollHere is a nice all composition Madame Alexander Sonja Henie doll. I have provided a detailed description, so scroll down for the rest of the story.DETAILS:HEIGHT: about 13”MARKS: Madame Alexander/ Sonja Henie on neckHAIR: She has her original blonde glued on wig. The hair is not cut. No bald spotsEYES: Sleep brown eyes with blonde eyelashes. The eyelashes are all intact-none missing.CLOTHES: Sonja is wearing her original skating dress. It is original but the tag has been clipped. One can see where it was on the upper left back of the bodice. The skirt of the dress is a flocked cotton organdy with some sparkles. The bodice is lace trimmed taffeta. The dress has a stiffened gauze underskirt. Sonja also has white taffeta bloomers and her original ice skates. These skates show wear but they have the typical tongue which goes all the way to the sole of the boot. The dress is pictured on page 38 of “Treasury of Mme. Alexander Dolls” by Jan Foulke.CONDITION: Very good overall condition. There is some light glaze crazing but the composition is strong and good. There are no lifts or peels. No deep cracks. I know that there are delivery times for USPS priority and Parcel Post STATED ONLINE but because of new policy, actual delivery time can be 2, 3 even 4 times that long especially during the current Holiday Season. USPS trucks used to pull out every night with packages to get to their various destinations but a new policy was implemented, that because of high gas prices, that the trucks would not be able to pull out until they were completely full. So they may sit there 1 TO 5 DAYS at each designated point on the route UNTIL they are full. This can greatly affect the delivery time. Even though gas prices are low now, they are going ahead with the policy because the USPS is so far in debt. UNFORTUNATELY, they are not changing the stated delivery times .
