Vintage Marx Allstate Electric Train set # 52278 Up for auction is a vintage Marx train set from the 1950's-1960's. This set was purchased at an estate sale a couple of months back. The box was separate from the trains, so I put together the set from information I gathered on the web. The box states set# 52278. It is in Good Very Good condition for it's age. The locomotive is lettered 666, and the Tender and Tanker are lettered ALLSTATE. As you can see from my pictures. The set comes with a transformer, but no track. Also, one of the cars for the car carrier is missing it's wheels, the ERIE gondola is missing a side, and the ERIE bridge has only one piece to it. All in all, a nice vintage set for display or restoration. Because of the age and overall GOOD condition, I am selling this set AS-IS for parts, no returns. Please bid accordingly.
