This has to be one of the prettiest designs of Matisse Copper Enamel I have ever seen. I so do want to keep it, but I know I would not wear it as often as it deserves to be worn so I am passing it on to someone else. It should be seen, not packed away in a jewelry box. I believe the pattern is called "Diana" but if I am mistaken, please let me know and I will modify my auction. Whatever the name of the pattern is, it is truly beautiful. Lovely patterning in copper enamel with green and copper being the two predominant colors. T are fifteen 1" long enamel sections, each with edges trimmed in copper. T is about 5" additional of chain and catch on the ends for a total length of about 20". Piece is signed "Matisse" and small "c". The necklace is in EXCELLENT condition. No cracks or chips to enamel, and copper areas are nearly pristine. Necklace does not appear to have been worn much at all. Only minor flaw I could find is on backside of one enamel section t are two black marks (burn marks?) which I have pictured below. They do not affect the front side of the piece at all.
