This rare Issue Number 9 of the Mattachine Society's Beta Chapter publication "San Francisco Mattachine Newsletter" from February 14, 1954 (see enlarged photo 2 below) features pioneering gay-related news, editorials, calendar events, etc. -- and offers an interesting glimpse into the pre-Stonewall period of LGBT history. This vintage, stapled, 3-page, double-sided, magazine-size newsletter is in good to average condition; a real collector's item with no missing pages and no writing, but points lost for edge wear that includes small tears, mostly in the upper left front cover corner and cover wear that includes torn front cover corners that affects pages beneath to varying degrees -- worst area is the upper left front cover corner w all pages are detached now from the staple (see photo 1 below) -- and overall frailty/foxing of paper due to age and improper storage (please note that item will be sent in a protective plastic sleeve).
