This auction is for a vintage Model Die Casting (Roundhouse) box cab locomotive which was probably manufactured in the 1970s. The model is "standard MDC" for that era--metal chassis and plastic cab body. The model has been custom-painted for a private road, the "L & TR", in what might be described as "Green Bay Packers colors". The road name was applied with stickers or labels, rather than decals, and at least one of the stickers is falling off. There is no evidence of any metal fatigue or deterioration, as sometimes occurs with these models. To the best of my knowledge, the model is complete and all original. There are no dings, dents, scratches or missing detail parts that I am aware of. The model is powered with an open-frame motor (with flywheel) which appears to be brand new. It is geared very low with a step-down idler gear, common on MDC models of this era. The model has been lubed and tuned and runs smoothly (with the usual gear noise) in both directions on my test track. Kadee couplers are mounted front and rear. This locomotive is a nice, clean rendition of a classic HO model, and your satisfaction is guaranteed. The model does not read more
