~~ THIS ELEGANT LARGE VINTAGE MICRO MOSAIC FRAME AWAITS YOUR BID ~~ This COBALT BLUE frame is one of the most exquisite examples of micro mosaic work I have ever encountered. The tiles are so snug against one another that from a distance they appear to be one solid piece. The large bright orange/red flowers are so vibrant in color that they seem to reach out to the envious on-looker. I have seen many micro mosaic frames but I've never seen one made with the deep cobalt blue background like this one is blessed with. This gorgeous frame measures nearly 4 5/8 " tall and 3 1/4 " wide. The photo area is approx. 3" tall by 2 1/4" wide. The easel stand is present and made of heavy weight twisted wire. It keeps the frame in a wonderful upright position. It is sturdy - not flimsy like some of the twisted wire stands seem to be. All tesserae (glass tiles) are present and solidly intact. The glass cover for the photo area is also present and in good condition . The back plate does not state Italy as the country of origin, although I'm certain the frame was indeed made in Italy. I believe the frame originally had a paper sticker stating that it was made in Italy, but the sticker and the frame have parted company at some time during this fabulous frame's history.
