Major Claude D Houbler was enlisted in the Army during the WWII and Korean War. This foot locker was from the Korean War time frame and has been in Major Houbler's (whom was a Captain at the time) posession until his death in 2011. The foot locker remained in his home until the Estate went up for sale and this is where I purchased it in Sept. 2013. You can verify some of the information and more on . The foot locker still has the US Government Shipment label dated March 10, 1953 along with the Railway Express Collect Cosignee receipt on the left side. The top shows the transfer information between Kentucky to New York to Augsburg, Germany For Capt Claude D Houbler in the typical stensils style. On the inside of the lockers it shows that it was manufactured by F.A. Whitney Carriage Co in 1952. On the right side it has Houbler and what is belived to be his officer number hand written. It has been painted black from the original green as you can see on the bottom with the same transfer information and the inside. The locker is made of wood with wooden handles. The hinges are in great condition but look to have been replaced at one point. It has a lot of dings and scratches as to be expected from military equipment. See pics for more details.
