This 1920's wood tile Mah Jong (Mah Jong, Mahjong) set has been modified from the original 144 tiles to 152 tiles, with the addition of 8 matching tiles for use as jokers (already stickered with stickers from ebay seller garden state cottage). This will allow for play according to National Mah Jong League or similar organization rules. The tiles have white fronts and painted symbols and black backs. The set includes: 36 crak tiles, 36 dot tiles, 36 bam tiles, 16 wind tiles, 12 dragon tiles, 8 flower tiles, 8 joker tiles. This set comes with original dice, original instruction book ("The Ancient Game of China" - copyright 1923 by Milton Bradley), and woodbetting sticks.The set also includes a scoring card from Grant's Book Shop in Utica, NY. I noted in one of the pictures a comment on the scoring card aboutthe Mah Jong supplies the store carried - just thought it gave interesting historical information.The box is in good shape, considering it is made from cardboard. This set is geared toward players who have another set and want an alternative 1920's style wood tile set to play at various times - a touch of the time period when Mah Jong was introduced to the American public.
