Up for bid is a vintage 5 Gallon CONOCO Gas Can (please see the one picture) that has been restored as a MOBIL Oil Company gas can. It has been repainted and had a new decal put on it. This five gallon can was made by CONOCO and has a solid brass screw on lid with the following inscription on it: The Davis Welding & Mfg. Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, Pat. Jan. 27-20; Aug. 21-23; Nov. 24-25. That would probably put this can to being used in the late 1920's. You can assess the conditon by looking at the pictures of each side; it is really in excellent condition. This gas can belongs to Mr. Kenneth Boyd of Roosevelt , Oklahoma . Mr. Boyd is 77 years old and has lived all of his life on the farm that has been in his family for over 100 years. He has been restoring petroleum products for several years now, having restored approximately 85 gravity-flow gas pumps to date (among other restoration projects).
