Vintage Nathaniel Baldwin Type C Headphones - WORKS! Description This auction is for a pair of 1920's vintage Nathaniel Baldwin Type C high-impedance headphones in excellent working condition! These are still generally considered the best headphones for listening to crystal radios and other vintage radios. These have a balanced armature driving a thin phenolic diaphragm, which reproduces even the smallest signal and is far superior to the common electromagnet with metal diaphragm used in less expensive headphones. Condition This set of headphones is entirely original and in excellent working condition. They include the orginal cloth-covered headband and the original cloth-covered cord with two metal tip connectors. The bakelite units are excellent with no chips or cracks, and the metal parts are very good with no corrosion. I have used these headphones and they perform great.
