Up for your bidding pleasure is this vintage Smokey the Bear style "United States National Park Service" Stetson hat. As you can see in the pictures, the hat is not in the greatest of condition (some of the felt is worn). The bottom side of the hat is in much better condition. Otherwise in very good condition. The chin strap is missing if t ever was one. I'm guessing that this hat is circa 1940's - 1950's. Not that you'll being wearing it, but the hat size is 7 1/8. The front center of the tooled hat band is stamped with the letters "USNPS" The band is decorated with two sterling silver Sequoia cones. This collectible hat would make a nice addition to your collection. A potential bidder inquired as to why the shipping costs were so high for this hat. The reason is due to multiple screw-ups on my part. First of all, the box I originally packed the hat in was oversized according to the USPS guidelines. (I'm still trying to adjust to the new USPS shipping rates) Secondly, I clicked on"Priority Mail" as the method of shipping. I meant to click on "Parcel Post" when I listed the hat. T is a lot of difference in the shipping costs. Now my problem is that because the hat has already received a bid, I find that I can't change the shipping details.
