ITEM: A well potted earthenware jug decorated on a vibrant pink lustre mottled ground with a soft black transfer nautical scene entitled The Shipwright's Arms, t is a four line poem to the reverse: THE SAILORS FAREWELL Far from home across the sea To foreign climes I go While far away O think of me And I'll remember you MAKER: Unknown - t are no identifying marks, the jug is of British origin and will have been manufactured in the Staffordshire potteries to emulate the much earlier 19th century Sunderland examples. DATE: Early to mid 20th century. CONDITION: Overall excellent without chips, cracks or restoration. DIMENSIONS: 6½ ins lip to handle by 5 ins and standing 5¼ ins high. A charming and highly decorative vintage jug with a good antique look...
