For your consideration is a stunning handmade vintage Navajo pendant featuring natural blue turquoise and a red coral branch bezel set in sterling silver, with scrolls, rope twists and a single gleaming wing. The initials JB are stamped on the back of the pendant. This is from my mother-in-law's estate, most likely purchased by her parents (my husband's grandparents) during one of their extensive road trip vacations during the 1940's, 50's and 60's. They traveled by car (Grandpa wouldn't fly) all over the USA over the years, including the Southwest and the Grand Canyon. Grandma and Grandpa placed great value on quality and would not knowingly buy knockoffs or reproductions. For this reason we are confident that this is sterling silver with genuine turquoise and red coral, although I can't guarantee it. It's really quite spectacular.Measures 1.87 inches (47.57mm) by 1.49 inches (37.71mm) across and 8mm thick, weighing 14.10 grams. It's a substantial pendant.I make metalwork jewelry for a living and in my opinion this entire piece, including the serrated bezel, looks handmade. The stones are irregular in shape, the turquoise measuring 22mm x 14mm and the coral branch approximately 20mm long, set in hand cut serrated bezels. There are no purity markings, but it looks and feels like sterling silver so I presume it is at least close to read more
