well i completely missed last week. thanks for the emails wondering w i was. spent a whole week at the beach house with the grandkids. spring break rained most of the time and i have decided my patience is not what it used to be. never played so many games, cards, board games, jigsaw puzzles etc. oh great to be home to rest. . .. in november and december i was selling some lovely jewelry this all comes from a dear friend of my moms. i sold some dolls for one of her other friends so i really could not say no to this lady. well everything sold and when i took her the check she surprised me with another box full, . she and her husband ran the local jewelry store for years. when he suffered from a terminal illness in the late 70's they closed the doors to the store. well what we have are brand new vintage items. kind of sounds like a oxymoron to me. how can something vintage be brand new but that is the case. these lovely pieces of jewelry are still in the cases as they were in their store 30 some odd years ago. still have 1970 prices on some of them. also in researching some of these pieces they are even older than that i guess having been in the store for years and not selling, guess they did not have sales to get rid of old inventory. t are even some very old antique pieces that are not new in boxes, but i am assuming perhaps they took the pieces in trade. okay i will tell you what i know on these. first they are lovely yellow gold nicely marked 14K each. they are identical and are the same size 5. these along with numerous other pairs were in an envelope clearly marked RING GUARDS. t is no doubt they were sold in pairs as each pair was tied together with a tiny ribbon. however in trying to research most ebay sellers seem to be selling these as STACKABLE RINGS. so maybe ring guards is an old term. i have no idea. whatever may be the case i am sure you will know. this pair is lovely with identical ridged tops. see photo. . . . . .. . PLEASE NOTE THAT MANY OF THESE THINGS HAVE SAT AROUND FOR YEARS IN THE HOUSE OR ATTIC AND HAVE ACCUMULATED DIRT AND GRIME. I DO NOT CLEAN THEM, BUT DUST OFF ENOUGH TO CHECK FOR ANY DAMAGE OR MARKS AND BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT TO RUIN THEM BY CLEANING IN THE WRONG MANNER. I LEAVE THE PROFESSIONAL CLEANING UP TO YOU.
