Northern Paper Mills, a Marathon Division of American Can Company in Green Bay, Wisconsin fulfilled orders of five prints of these American Beauties to their customers. The enclosed letter from Northern Tissue relates that "their 11" x 14" size fits standard frames that can be purchased very reasonably at most any variety store". The artist of these prints, Mrs. Frances Hook of Flourtown, PA worked with pastels and was deeply influenced by Cassatt, Renoir and Degas. In 1960, Northern Tissue research revealed that most consumers prefer an aqua colored tissue to either green or blue. Sadly, the little red hair girl no longer represented the green color tissue on the package. The blue dress of the girl holding the kitten was changed to aqua. This set of 5 is one of the very last to be offered as gift sets to customers because after 1960, the sets of American Beauties representing North Paper Mills tissue had 4 girls. Buyer pays $9.00 handling and shipping. We gladly accept PayPal, cashier check or money order. Please check out our other vintage items currently on Auction at the House of Vnuk.
