Up for auction is a Northwestern Model 49 gumball machine in excellent condition. This machine has been professionally soda blasted and painted with a durable baked-on powder-coat finish (body, door, platform, and coin tray). The glass globe is free of cracks or chips but may have a few scratches from years of use. The coin mechanism and dispenser mechanism have been cleaned and both work well. The vending wheel is adjustable so the machine can vend gumballs, candy, or nuts. Original chrome parts have been cleaned and polished. The machine has been pinstriped and decked out in squirt decals, including an authentic 1970 "Squirt in cans" decal and a 1977 Vitachrome "Put a little Squirt in your life" decal of the squirt boy on a skateboard. The globe has an a genuine unused Squirt soda label from Standard Bottling Company in Alliance, Nebraska laminated on the inside. The top of the globe has been permanently etched with the word "Squirt" on the top. Original lock comes with a new key. Originally operated on a 5-cent mechanism but somew over the course of its nearly 60-year lifespan someone installed a 10-cent mechanism so it now operates on dimes. Approximate dimensions are 16" X 8" X 9". This is a nice looking machine that works as well as it looks! The new paint finish is a smooth consistent finish. I will install new bumper feet
