Vintage from many years ago, The Chesapeake and Ohio C&O Railroad Railway Company Syracuse China Train Ferry Service Cup and Saucer. This Pattern was used on C&O's Train Ferry Dining Rooms. Same Pattern as Chessie Pattern only with Train Ferry Boat logo in black. Base - bright white china with intense deep cobalt blue around cup and saucer and on handle and mustard color stripes at base of cup and on saucer, with a crystal clear drawing of the Train Ferry Boat at 12 oclock position on plate in black. Backstamped "Syracuse China 95 - J USA". (Oct. 1966). Saucer is backstamped same except number is " 94 - I" (Sept. 1965). Saucer measures approx. 5 3/4" diameter; cup measures approx. 3" diameter not including handle by 3 1/8" H. Good condition w/ some wear particularly on saucer from stacking dishes. Glaze on cup is intact. Saucer shows more wear that cup. Cup has small hairline crack on back side at 1 oclock position beginning at top rim and running down side approx. 1". When I run my finger over it, it feels smooth. (see pictures for details). It would display nicely. Please use zoom and enlarge features when viewing pictures.
