~ Vintage medium oak wood small desktop Bookcase / Book Shelf, Trough, dated 1914 ~ Simply made with curved detail at the sides and tilted slightly to present the spines of books at an angle, making it easier to read them. One side has carved intials EW and the other side has the date, 1914. The carving is very good, the lettering is very Art Nouveau style. Condition: Good strong vintage condition, (please be aware, there is a split to the wood near the number 4 on 1914, possibly it occurred when the carving was done) some wear and marks to the wood all consistent with age and use. Size is: 10.5 inches wide x 4.75 inches high x 7.5 inches deep Very pretty, lovely size and with a lovely history to it, would suit a desktop, mantle, table.
