Vintage Oil Painting of Cattle This is a large vintage oil painting that I purchased on a road trip going towards the Big Bend area with my dog Roswell about 12 years ago. I believe we were in a town called Big Spring. I was impressed with it because it had so much in it. There are 19 cows, 6 chickens, a big pile of what I think are sweet potato's, 4 water buckets, 3 wooden barrels, 2 woven baskets , a grain container, a wheel barrow , 6 windows, 8 large support beams 4 bundles of corn stalks and a farm woman that is taking care of all the critters! The cows are all lined up at the trough and are ready for breakfast. They have their eyes on her knowing the fine meal is about to be served. The chickens are moving about hoping to spy some spilled feed. I guess the viewer has just stepped inside the barn because two of the cows are looking toward you, the viewer. The painting is signed in the lower right corner. I can not make out the name. Isn't it something that someone can paint but they can't sign their name so it can be read. The date is 83. The painting is on canvas which has been stretched over the wood frame and tacked down with small metal tacks Not the painted tacks , plain metal tacks. The painting measures 31 and 1/2 inches by 23 and 3/4 inches. Because it is canvas stretched on a wood frame it has to be shipped in a box read more
