This is a very rare, Vintage Original 1939 Art Deco Travel Poster for FRANCE - Plombières-les-Bains - It is not a reprint or reproduction. Full colour lithograph, measures 24 1/4" x 39 1/2". It is in excellent condition! The colors are as crisp and bright as the day it was printed. No pin holes or tape. Edges and corners are genearally sharp. There is a small 1/4" tear in the top border (please see photos). It would be very difficult to find another in this good of condition, if you could find one at all. Displays Beautifully! Plombières-les-Bains is a commune in the Vosges department in Lorraine in northeastern France. A resort for centuries , the city of a thousand balconies, has 27 hot springs. Les bains refers to the hot springs in the area, whose properties were first discovered by the Romans. In succeeding centuries, its baths were visited by Montaigne, Voltaire, the Dukes of Guise, the Dukes of Lorraine, Beaumarchais, Napoleon Bonaparte, Joséphine de Beauharnais, Napoléon III, Berlioz, Lamartine and Alfred de Musset .
