Fairchild of course manufactured the world famous 660 and 670 compressors, but you can purchase this original Fairchild mic preamp/EQ without having to sell your house to buy it! Ultra rare vintage Fairchild 295 Mic Preamp/EQ unit. Never powered the unit up, so you should have your tech power up slowly with a variac and recap as needed. I can't guarantee if the unit currently works, as I have no way of testing. The mic preamp/equalizer is missing one of it's Bakelite knobs, and a few mounting screws that attach the unit to the carry case (note: it looks like the unit could easily be rack mounted if you were to attach a couple rack ears), but otherwise looks like it appears to be complete. The AC power cord is attached to the unit, but it's an old, ungrounded cord. You definitely want to have the power cord replaced with a grounded AC cord by your audio tech. I was told by the previous owner that he used the unit many times before, but it has been many years since he used it. As with all vintage electronics, this item is sold "As Is", no returns. If you are looking to set your analog studio apart from the rest, this would do it. Now is your chance to own a rare, cool, all tube vintage Fairchild Microphone Preamplifier with built in Equalizer. Imagine plugging your vintage Neumann, Telefunken, Schoeps or AKG microphone into this! I
