UP FOR AUCTION IS A.... VINTAGE ORIGINAL TIN SIGN / LITHO FOR DISNEY WORLD OF COLOR !!! THIS IS NOT A REPO!!! VERY, VERY,RARE!!! It is getting harder to find a antique Disney signs and they are highly sot after, as t are so many repos out t!! In the mid-1950s and up until 1961, ABC had broadcast the show Disneyland which was part of the deal between Walt Disney and ABC in order to help finance Disneyland, the place. In 1961, the show moved to NBC and to take advantage of the network's ability to broadcast in color. Walt Disney had already filmed many of the shows in color prior to the move to NBC, so he was able to use his shows and repeat them on the new network.So, on September 24th, 1961 the first episode of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color debuted! The name of the show was changed in order to emphasize the new color feature. The first NBC episode even dealt with the principles of color, as explained by a new character named Ludwig Von Drake. The character's voice was supplied by Disney Legend Paul Frees. THIS SIGN IS ADVERTISING THE THE FIRST EPISODE OF WALT DISNEYS WONDERFUL WORLD OF COLOR,SEPTEMBER 24th 1961!!!! VERY RARE!!!! This is a great sign in great condition! Colors are sharp,no fading! T is some discoloration but, not on the characters themselves.
