PIQUA OHIO PROVENANCE As they days get shorter and the night longer, one cannot help but think of surrounding ones self with items of warmth and comfort. If the spastic activity of the neighborhood squirrels is any indication as to the severity of winter coming our way, you better step up winter preparation a hasten pace. A few days ago I was entertained watching them frantically dart by my window with their checks tucked full (paper and all) of dropped Halloween candy. Since then the temperatures have plummeted considerably causing a panic among the squirrel population. I feared for my life and the life of this incredibly gorgeous blanket, during my picture taking session. The critters have been plucking my chair cushions for bedding, and I just knew they had their eye on this incredibly colorful and cozy Orr blanket. Defending it with my life, I was able to get it back into the house and out of harms way. The historic value is appreciated, the colors are brilliant and the 100% wool is valued. Nothing warms the heart more than to snuggle on the couch with a good book and a fantastically warm wool blanket. This incredible Orrlaskan will not let you down on those cold winter nights. This elegant wool blanket with its bound edges and its richly dyed colors is as appealing to look at as it is for use. Thick pile, soft to the touch the Orrlaskan will be the blanket of choice when old man winter comes pounding at your window panes. Being of vintage demeanor this incredible beautiful blanket does have a few ever so slight imperfections. Minute to its overall glory, I feel I must make mention to keep this auction at its highest level of trust. Four of the binding stitches have worked their way loose as well as the blanket does play host to slight wool balling. I will leave the de-balling up to the buyer, a fun activity to do while you watch the upcoming Christmas movies. Truly a small price to pay: for such an elegant piece of the past. This blanket comes from a smoke free home! No visible staining or areas of compromise, other than the above mentioned.
